The defending champions Zenit Kazan have suffered a defeat in the first round of the Men's Volleyball Club World Championship.

Fakel

Fakel

This is not a surprise since Fakel are playing at a high level this season. They are along with Zenit Kazan the only undefeated team in Russia, so this victory over Vladimir Alekno’s side has not been made by an accident.

Fakel firstly took the lead and then got into a difficult situation, trailing by one against the team from Kazan 2-1! However, in the fourth and in the tie-break, Camilo Placi’s side controlled the situation on the court, winning the game 3-2!

Artur Adrys (22 points), Dmitry Volkov (21) and Egor Kliuka (20 points) have left amazing impressions in this game, while Earvin Ngapeth and Matt Anderson scored 19 points each.
