Media in Poland reported that the country’s Men’s Volleyball national team head coach Vital Heynen wanted to leave the Final Six of the 2019 FIVB Nations League in Chicago, USA, after the match against Iran. After a while, the Polish Volleyball Federation (PZPS) and an expert himself denied the news.

Media in Poland transferred the words of Prawda Siatki reporter Marcin Lepa who said that Heynen has requested the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) to change his return ticket to Poland for Friday. Lepa did not reveal the reason why Belgian expert wanted to go back, while some media speculated that it was due to the scheduled promotion in his new club Sir Safety Conad Perugia, Italy. The other reason might be Heynen’s desire to return to work with the rest of the group that remained in Poland for the Qualifications for the 2020 Olympic Games.

When this news spread around, the PZPS reacted and denied it on Twitter.

“We received information from a high-ranked person in the national team: after the matches with Brazil and Iran, our team and Vital Heynen will spend this weekend in Chicago for the matches for medals,“ the Polish Federation posted.

Heynen also used this social network to make a denial on the Prawda Siatki news.

“A simple but great quote: ’winners are always right.’ So, the amazing guys deserve to be supported. I promised them to stay as long as we are winning. Thank you PZPS (Jacek and Tomasz) for making this possible for me,“ Heynen wrote.

Poland advanced to the semifinals of the 2019 VNL as Pool B leaders, beating both Brazil and Iran.
