The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) made more changes to the 2020 calendar because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

After already postponing the 2020 Volleyball Nations League, the FIVB announced further changes to its events calendar for indoor volleyball.

“The men’s and women’s Volleyball Challenger Cup 2020 events due to be hosted in Gondomar, Portugal and Zadar, Croatia respectively on 24-28 June, have been postponed until further notice. This is due to these events serving as opportunities for emerging volleyball nations to potentially qualify for, and compete in, next year’s edition of the prestigious Volleyball Nations League (VNL) 2021. This year’s edition of the event, the VNL 2020, has already been postponed,“ the FIVB published.

Obviously, the FIVB will have to make a new decision regarding the 2020 VNL. Initially, it was postponed until after the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games but the Olympics have been recently rescheduled for 2021.
