All 16 Eighthfinalists Determined in the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship

With one competition day remaining in the pool stage of the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship, the teams for the next stage have been decided. The final six slots have been claimed by Bulgaria, Egypt, Japan, Mexico, Serbia, and Slovenia, solidifying the lineup of 16 eighthfinalists. Teams of Chile, Costa Rica, and India will fight for spots between 17th to 19th in the final standings.

Pool C: Iran Leads with Unbeaten Record

Iran has dominated Pool C, continuing their winning streak with a 3-0 shutout against Colombia. They finish the pool stage with a perfect 4-0 win-loss record and 12-0 in sets. Korea holds the runner-up position with a 3-1 win-loss record, while Colombia and Puerto Rico will face off for third place in the pool.

Pool A: United States and Egypt Shine

In Pool A, the United States has kept a flawless record, defeating Argentina 3-0 on Saturday. With three wins and no set losses, they sit at the top of the standings. Egypt secured their advancement with a 3-0 sweep against Costa Rica, ensuring both their place and Serbia’s in the eighthfinals.

Pool B: Bulgaria and Slovenia Secure Places

Bulgaria bounced back from a loss to France, earning a 3-1 victory over Japan and guaranteeing their spot in the eighthfinals. Slovenia’s 3-0 win over India also secured their place, along with Japan’s, among the top 16 teams.

Pool D: Italy Suffers First Set Loss but Advances

In Pool D, Italy handed Belgium their first loss but experienced their first set defeat in a 3-1 match. Brazil’s 3-0 shutout of Chile allowed them to rebound, and with Chile finishing winless, Mexico also advanced to the eighthfinals.
