In the Volleyball Nations League tournament in Antalya, Slovenia secured their third victory after a hard-fought match against Canada, winning 3-2 (22-25, 25-18, 25-18, 21-25, 15-10). This win follows their previous triumphs over the Netherlands and France.
Slovenia’s performance had its ups and downs, which is typical for this stage of the season. Under the guidance of coach Gheorghe Cretu, the team had a slow start, trailing 1-6 initially and failing to catch up in the first set. However, they quickly found their rhythm.
Slovenia managed to handle Canada’s strong serves and maintained a reliable attack. They seemed poised to win comfortably but faced a setback in the fourth set, which Canada won. In the decisive tie-break, Slovenia played with determination and secured the victory without much uncertainty. In the final set, Slovenia made a decisive move at 6-6, scoring three consecutive points to lead 9-6 and eventually winning the set 15-10 with a strong finish.
