In a historic victory, Türkiye defeated Iran 3-1 (22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 27-25). Kaan Gurbuz led Türkiye with 34 points, lifting his team to 15th place and leaving Iran winless at the bottom of the table.
In the opening match of the day for Pool 4 in Ottawa, Canada, Cuba triumphed over France with a 3-2 victory.
