In a thrilling echo of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, France has clinched the gold medal in the men’s volleyball tournament at Paris 2024. For the second consecutive Games, star outside hitter Earvin Ngapeth has been named the Most Valuable Player.
At 33, Ngapeth showcased his prowess throughout the tournament, amassing 92 points in six matches with 75 kills, ten blocks, and five aces. His standout performance was crucial in France’s comeback victory over Germany in the quarterfinals, where he scored 21 points, his highest in the event.
Ngapeth’s stellar play also earned him a spot on the Paris 2024 Dream Team, alongside four French teammates. Notably, he and libero Jenia Grebennikov are the only athletes to be named to both the Paris and Tokyo Dream Teams.
