Paris 2024 W: Brazil Clinches Bronze

In a powerful rebound from their semifinal defeat to the United States, Brazil secured the bronze medal in the women’s volleyball tournament at the Paris 2024 Games. On Saturday, the Brazilian team delivered a dominant performance against Türkiye, winning the bronze medal match 3-1 with set scores of 25-21, 27-25, 22-25, and 25-15.

Brazilian captain Gabi shone brightly, leading her team with 28 points, including 22 kills, five blocks, and one ace. Key contributions also came from middle blocker Thaisa Menezes, who scored 17 points, and outside hitter Ana Cristina Souza, who added 13 points. Türkiye’s Melissa Vargas led her team with 26 points, while Derya Cebecioğlu and Eda Erdem contributed 14 and 13 points, respectively.

With Brazil’s win, the final match of the tournament will see Italy face the United States for the gold medal on Sunday at 13:00 local time (11:00 GMT) at South Paris Arena 1.
