Serbia’s women’s national team finally tasted victory again. In a determined performance in Apeldoorn, they defeated the Czechia 3-1, claiming their first win of the 2025 Volleyball Nations League and moving off the bottom of the standings.

It wasn’t the smoothest start. Czechia took the opening set, capitalizing on Serbia’s early nerves despite the return of star Tijana Bošković and a just-recovered Aleksandra Uzelac. But the Serbian team, full of fight and desire, bounced back.

The third set was the turning point. Down 22-24, Serbia held off two set points and, thanks to clutch plays by Uzelac and Ivanović, stole the set 28-26. They then dominated the fourth, sealing the win in style, 25-18.

Bošković and Ivanović each scored 18 points, with Uzelac adding 15. For the Czechia, Helena Grozer impressed with 21 points.
