FIVB WC U17 M: Egypt, Brazil, and Italy Remain Undefeated as U17 World Championship Enters Knockouts

In a conclusion to the pool stages of the 2024 FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U17 World Championship in Sofia, Egypt, Brazil, and Italy are the only teams to advance to the elimination rounds undefeated. The Round of 16 matches will feature seven games, with Egypt advancing automatically to the quarterfinals due to Uzbekistan’s withdrawal.

In Pool A, Spain secured the top spot despite a 3-2 loss to Chinese Taipei, where Huang Pin-Yen shone with 29 points. Bulgaria finished second in the pool, edging out Mexico with a 3-1 victory.

In Pool B, Egypt secured first place with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Iran, thanks to standout performances from Khaled Elfeky and Ahmeh Yassin Jr. Tunisia clinched third place in the pool after defeating Libya 3-0.

Italy triumphed in Pool C after coming from behind to beat Argentina 3-1. Manuel Zlatanov led Italy with 23 points. Puerto Rico, securing their first win by defeating Cuba 3-0, advanced in third place.

Brazil dominated Pool D, finishing their group stage with a perfect record following a 3-0 win against Belgium. Chile, having received a forfeit win against Uzbekistan, also progressed to the knockout stages.
