Apeldoorn, Netherlands – Serbia wrapped up their Volleyball Nations League 2025 journey in style, delivering a commanding 3-0 victory over European champions Türkiye to close the preliminary phase on a high note.
After a winless start and fears of relegation, the defending world champions bounced back with three wins in four matches. Tijana Bošković starred with 21 points, while Vanja Ivanović added 15 in the sweep (25-18, 25-20, 25-18).
“I’m proud of how we finished,” said Bošković. “This gives us great momentum heading into the World Championship.”
Türkiye, already through to the Finals in Poland, lacked their usual spark, with Yaprak Erkek scoring 10 points in a quiet showing.
In other matches, Belgium, Italy, and Germany also closed their campaigns with wins, the latter highlighted by Anastasia Cekulaev’s impressive 10-block performance against the Dominican Republic.
