Ekaterina Antropova scored 19 points to guide Savino Del Bene Scandicci to a straight-sets win over Zhetysu as the Italian club opened its first FIVB Women’s Club World Championship appearance with a 3–0 victory.

Antropova dominated from the serve line with four aces and added 15 kills in the 25–22, 25–21, 25–20 win at Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu. Scandicci also saw double-digit contributions from Camilla Weitzel, who finished with 12 points, and Avery Skinner with 10. Zhetysu, competing in the event for the first time, were led by Tatyana Nikitina with 11 points. Kristina Anikonova and Kristina Belova each added eight.
Scandicci earned their first three points in Pool A. Brazil’s Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde and Peru’s Alianza Lima were scheduled to meet later to close out the group’s opening day.
