WGCC 2017 W: Major upset – Japan defeat Brazil!

The Japanese national team has managed to score the second win at the World Grand Champions Cup, after making a major upset, defeating Brazil in five sets 25-18, 25-27, 25-15, 16-25, 15-6.

Japan were leading all the time while Brazil managed to survive in the fourth set and to force the tie-break! The team from Asia was merciless in the fifth set, smashing the rival 15-6.

Yuki Ishi was the top scorer with 19 points and Erika Araki added 18 points. In Brazil, Natalia Pereira had 15 points.

Japan have now 2-1 score, while Brazil have one victory out of three games.

Grand Champions Cup 2017, day 3:

USA – Russia 3-2 (23-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-21, 15-9)

China – South Korea 3-0 (25-14, 25-4, 25-12)

Japan – Brazil 3-2 (25-18, 25-27, 25-15, 16-25, 15-6)
