After USA, Italy, and Poland (beat Canada by a 3-1 in Pool 3), France became the fourth team to end Week 1 of the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Nations League with a 3-0 record.

At home in Rouen, in Pool 1, the „Team Yavbou“ scored the easiest win in the tournament so far, a 3-0 against Australia, partially 25-17, 25-20, 36-34.  France imposed dominance with a furious start in the opening set, 9-1! Australia had the only real opportunity of winning a set in the third one during which Kévin Tillie had to leave the court due to a pain in his left knee.

Stéphen Boyer was the best scorer for France with 18 points. Lincoln Williams notched 10 points for „Volleyroos“.

Japan beat Iran beat in the same pool by a 3-1 while Russia defeated South Korea in straight sets in Pool 3.
