France wrecked Serbia to fill in the last remained spot in the semifinals of the 2018 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Nations League.

The Final Six hosts France destroyed Serbia in front of own crowd at Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille by a 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-17) to join Russia, USA, and Brazil in the semifinal of the Nations League. Furthermore, the „Les Bleus“ secured a top-spot in Pool A to avoid perfect Russia (No.1 in Pool B) before meeting them in the eventual final.

France did not need to win all three points against Serbia as even one point from the match against the Balkan side would guarantee them the spot in the semis. On the other hand, Serbia had to clinch a three-point worth victory to book a semifinals ticket. And they simply succumbed to this pressure.

Earvin Ngapeth tallied 17 points (3 aces) in France’s triumph while Thibault Rossard made 4 aces. Uroš Kovačević scored 10 points for Serbia.

Semifinals:

14:00 C.E.T. – France vs. USA

16:30 C.E.T. – Russia vs. Brazil
