The second seed Cannes swept the No.3 seed Le Cannet in Game 3 of the 2018/19 Ligue A Féminine playoff semifinals (25-21, 25-16, 25-23), closed the series with a 2-1 and advanced to the gold medal matchup with Nantes, who secured a spot in the finals yesterday.
Led by Héléna Cazaute (13 points) and Myriam Kloster (4 kill blocks), Cannes eliminated multiple Swiss titleholders Le Cannet (formerly known as Volero Zürich), in their first-ever Ligue A appearance after relocating to France.
Cannes will play their second playoff finals in a row and will try to win the title which they claimed last time in 2015, rounding up 18-year domination in the country’s Women’s volleyball.
