In yesterday’s 12th round of the German Bundesliga, volleyball fans witnessed impressive performances by WWK Volleys Herrsching and SVG Lüneburg, both securing wins in their respective matches. Meanwhile, today’s action looks forward to a clash between TSV Haching München and SWD powervolleys Düren.
Kicking off the new year on a high note, WWK Volleys Herrsching delivered a 3-0 victory against Baden Volleys SSC Karlsruhe. The scores of 25-21, 25-16, and a nail-biting 31-29 highlighted their dominance, propelling them to second in the league standings, only two points behind the top-spot Berlin Recycling Volleys.
The match, hosted at the BMW Park, initially seemed like a comfortable outing for Herrsching, who secured the first two sets without much hassle. However, the third set saw a resilient effort from the Karlsruhe side. Despite having four set points, SSC Karlsruhe squad failed to capitalize, allowing Herrsching to clinch the match after 83 minutes, thanks to a decisive ace serve by Joel Schneidmiller.
On the other hand, SVG Lüneburg broke their streak of three consecutive losses across various competitions. They marked the start of the second half of the Bundesliga’s main round with a straight-set win (25-23, 29-27, 25-17) against Energiequelle Netzhoppers Königs Wusterhausen. This victory was important in keeping them in the top four of the standings.
