Olympiacos – Zenit
Most of uncertainty has been in the opening set which also lasted longer, half an hour. Olympiacos had a great opportunity to gain an initial advantage in sets considering the leed of 21-19. However, Zenit won this part of the match on the difference in points – 28-26.
In the second set, there was no dilemma. Zenit took the lead 16-11 at the second technical timeout and and without major problems, got a 2-0.
Greek representative was, even in the third set, a step closer to win it compared to Zenit but did not use a solid advantage of 16-13. A 8-2 run of the Russian team ended the hopes of Olympiacos.
Best scorers: Zenit – Maxim Mikhailov 17 and Wilfredo León 16 points, Olympiacos – Andrii Diachkov 14 and Menelaos Kokkinakis 10 points.
