The Italian Men’s Volleyball top division side Calzedonia Verona announced that it has entrusted Radostin Stoytchev with the coaching guidance of the team.

The Bulgarian expert Radostin Stoytchev has signed a contract that will bind him to Verona for the next three seasons. Thus, he returned to working in Italy after parting ways with Azimut Leo Shoes Modena at the end of the 2017/18 season. Last season, he was appointed Sporting Director of the Polish side Stocznia Szczecin but remained without a job early in the season when club withdrew from Plus Liga for financial reasons.

A 49-year-old Stoytchev established himself one of the most prominent SuperLega coaches ever, winning the championship four times, Cup three times, and Super Cup one time – all with Itas Trentino in two mandates in the club. Coaching the same club, Stoytchev won the title in the CEV Champions League three times and in the FIVB Club World Championship four times. He also collected trophies while working in his home country, Russia and Turkey.

Although there were speculations that Stoytchev could become the Sporting Director of Verona, he succeeded Serbian Nikola Grbić, who parted ways with the club less than 24 hours ago, on the bench.
