The team coached by Stefano Lavarini, who won the Brazilian Championship with Itambé/Minas last season, defeated Champions League participants Savino Del bene Scandicci on the road: 3-2 (20-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-19, 15-12).
Scandicci players made too many errors throughout the match, especially in the tie-break (33 in total compared to 23 from Busto). American opposite hitter Karsta Lowe top-scored for Busto with 24 points, while Giulia Leonardi made 85% reception (26 digs, 62% perfect). Mexican Samantha Bricio and Pole Magdalena Stysiak tallied 20 points apiece for Scandicci, while Enrica Merlo made 82% reception (17 digs, 71% perfect). With the win, Busto climbed to the second place in the charts with 7-2 and 21 points.
