Imoco looked like a tornado in the first 2 sets against Savino Del Bene Scandicci in the semifinal of the 2019/20 Coppa Italia di Serie A1 Femminile, leaving some hope to the rivals only in the 3rd set: 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-23). Thus, Italian champions will play the match for the trophy in the national cup for the 4th consecutive season. It will be the 3rd final for the team coached by Daniele Santarelli this season after the Super Cup and the FIVB Club World Championship. Top scorer of the match was Imoco’s Paola Egonu with 19 points. The Pole Magdalena Stysiak scored 10 points for Scandicci, while Enrica Merlo made 83% reception (23 digs, 61% perfect).
Imoco will face Busto in the decider for the gold medal. The hosts of the final tournament also recorded a straight-set victory, beating surprising semifinalists Saugella Monza.
