Before returning to the United States, as the season in Italy is over because of the coronavirus pandemic, Russell did an amazing gesture that will help the fight against coronavirus in the Trento, the city in Italy for whose club he competes – Itas Trentino. Together with his wife Kendall, the MVP of the 2018 FIVB Club World Championship paid two weeks of lunches to the researchers of the CIBIO (Centre for integrative biology of the University of Trento) through a restaurant that’s one of the club sponsors.

This way, the outside hitter actively helped people who are currently testing the swabs for the contagion from COVID-19 and working on developing adequate antibodies to be administered to patients who manifest the symptoms of this virus.
