The play of the Italian men’s volleyball club Calzedonia Verona next season will be shaped by Bulgarian players.

Verona are close to signing Bulgaria National Team member Martin Atanasov from France’s Chaumont. The 23-year-old outside hitter will join two compatriots who are to renew contracts with the SuperLega side: Matey Kaziyski and Asparuh Asparuhov. Actually, Kaziyski didn’t play the entire last season for Verona as he came in February after completing the season in Japan (won the championship).

In addition to these three Bulgarians, Verona plan to hire an experienced setter Michele Baranowicz from Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia to replace Luca Spirito (will likely move to Vero Volley Monza).
