The 2010 FIVB World Championship winner, as well as four-time FIVB Volleyball Nations League, two-time FIVB World Grand Champions Cup and three-time South American Championship winner (one-time MVP and Best Middle Blocker), Sidão, put an end to his professional career. The 37-year-old player revealed his decision a live interview on SporTV’s social media. Last season, he played for Sesi-SP.

Sidão said that he made such a decision in order to spend more time with his family. He and his wife, who’s also a professional volleyball player, Danielle Lins “Dani Lins” (the 2012 London Olympics gold medalist) have a 2-year-old daughter that needs their full attention.

As for Dani Lins, she will continue competing.
