The Iran National Team middle blocker Mousavi is about to embark on his first experience in SuperLega. A 33-year-old star from Asia strengthened Italy’s side of Piacenza by which speculations of this transfer turned into the player’s signature.
Mousavi is a player with great international experience and is one of the best players in his position, as evidenced by many individual awards obtained in his career. Among many awards, in 2010, he was Best Blocker at the FIVB Club World Championship, while in 2015, he was elected Best Middle Blocker of the FIVB World Cup.
During his club career, Mousavi played only in Iran with the exception of the last season, which he spent in Poland’s Indykpol AZS Olsztyn. He finished 2019/20 as, statistically, the best blocker (78 blocks) and the most effective middle blocker (258 points) of PlusLiga. After his first European experience, he returned to his homeland, joining Saipa Alborz, who suspended him when they learned he was to move to Piacenza.
