Francesca Marcon and Giulia Leonardi were there to welcome the last additions to the group that has undergone quite some changes since the past season. Marcon and Leonardi are the only players who have prolonged their stay in Busto Arsizio alongside Valentina Arrighetti who is currently in Japan for the World Grand Prix Finals with Italy’s national team.

The newcomers were all very happy and excited for being part of the group: Ilaria Garzaro, Ciara Michel, Marika Bianchini, Ilaria Spirito and four more players from the junior team competing in the third division were all there to get to feel the passion and support of the local fans for the first time. The group will be working under the guidance of assistant coach Massimo Dagioni and physical trainer Ezio Bramard while waiting for the return of their mentor Carlo Parisi who is busy with the Czech national team.

“I am very excited to be here. I really could not imagine that the club was scouting me and once I got to know that, I did not sleep for the whole nightIlaria Garzaro says. “I am happy to be here now together with this great crowd and ready to embark on this adventure. This is not a goal that I have achieved but I actually a place where to re-start my Volleyball adventure. It feels like the first day of a school year where all students are coming back”.

“Everything looks just superb and perfect here” Ciara Michel – who played at the London Olympics last year with Team GB – says. “There are so many people here, I am amazed. I even can’t imagine the look and feel in this sports hall once it will be fully crowded. I can’t wait for that; in the meantime I keep on learning Italian with the help of my teammates”.
