Vero Volley Milano has announced roster for the forthcoming season. This highly accomplished women’s team, which has made it to the Scudetto finals twice in the last two years, is once again refining its lineup with the goal of reaching even greater heights.
The team will feature several familiar faces, including captain Alessia Orro, who will serve as the team’s setter. Other returnees include middle blockers Dana Rettke, Raphaela Folie, and Sonia Candi, as well as outside hitter Myriam Sylla and libero Beatrice Parrocchiale.
There’s an air of excitement surrounding the new players joining the squad this season. Vittoria Prandi, a setter hailing from Pinerolo, is among them, along with European champions Kara Bajema and Nika Daalderop, who both triumphed with VakifBank Istanbul in Turin recently. Other noteworthy additions include Helena Cazaute, an outside hitter from Chieri, Adhuoljok Malual, an opposite hitter from Casalmaggiore, Brenda Castillo, a libero from Scandicci, and Laura Heyrman, a returning middle blocker who last season competed for Eczacibasi Istanbul.
To round out this ambitious roster, Vero Volley Milano is also bringing aboard Paola Egonu, who is returning to Italy after playing for Vakifbank Istanbul in Turkey. Egonu, recently named MVP of the Champions League, which she clinched for the third time in her career, adds a significant boost to the team.
Marco Gaspari will steer this formidable squad as the head coach, with Luca Bucaioni and Simone Bendandi providing support as assistant coaches. The trio’s return to the bench underscores the stability and continuity of the club’s leadership. With a roster brimming with talent, Vero Volley Milano is looking poised for a memorable season.
