As the summer heat peaks, UYBA Volley Busto Arsizio is warming up for the upcoming official season, set to commence on October 8. Following an initial phase of pre-season training from mid-May to the end of June, the team will return to the e-work arena from August 1, dedicated to laying the groundwork for the imminent season. Apart from a brief pause around mid-August, the training schedule promises to be relentless.
In the absence of Head Coach Julio Velasco, who is expected to join the team in Busto Arsizio on September 1, Assistant Coach Juan Manuel Chichello will take the reins starting August 1. The initial group of players returning to the court includes Giuditta Lualdi, Giorgia Zannoni, Jennifer Boldini, Martina Bracchi, and Dominika Sobolska, with T’ara Ceasar and Simin Wang to follow a few days later, pending their visa renewal.
Players Katerina Valkova and Layne Van Buskirk, who are engaged with their respective national teams for Olympic qualifications in September, and Dominika Giuliani, set to participate in the Junior World Championships in Mexico later in August, will join the team later. Athletes returning from the Universiade, such as Federica Carletti, Giorgia Frosini, Rebecca Piva, and Benedetta Sartori, could merge with the training squad from August 21, although the UYBA coaching staff may offer them a few extra days of rest.
