As the 2024 Scudetto Play Off approaches, Itas Trentino, the reigning Italian champions, are strengthening their squad with the addition of French setter Matthieu Garcia from Arago de Séte to their roster. After Riccardo Sbertoli’s injury, the club signed Garcia as an alternative in the setter position.
Matthieu Garcia started his career at the Arago de Séte volleyball school, where he became the youngest captain in the club’s history at the age of eighteen. Coach Soli praised Garcia’s willingness to join the team, noting the flexibility his presence brings to the lineup during a busy schedule of critical games.
Garcia, who will wear the number 19 jersey, is the third French player to join Trentino Volleyball, following in the footsteps of Renaud Herpe and Jenie Grebennikov. He will be available for the team in the Scudetto Play Off quarter-final first leg against Modena on March 6.
