Ivan Zaytsev, one of the biggest stars in the world of volleyball, has shown once again that he’s not just a great athlete but a great person. With countless personal and team achievements, Zaytsev said goodbye to Vero Volley Monza in a way that reflects his character—gracious, heartfelt, and inspiring.
Yesterday, he played his final match in Monza’s jersey, and what a game it was! After an intense two-hour, five-set showdown, Monza defeated Italian volleyball giant Cucine Lube Civitanova 3-2, breaking their losing streak in the best possible way. Zaytsev contributed 14 points, including three stunning aces, making sure his farewell was unforgettable.
In his message today, Ivan poured his heart out:
“These months were intense, with ups and downs. I found a team of real people—united, hardworking, and always striving to improve. It breaks my heart to leave that locker room, but I’ll always cheer for you from afar. Love you all!”
