Conegliano Advances to Final After Beating Novara 3-1
Prosecco DOC Imoco Conegliano secured their seventh consecutive Final Scudetto appearance, defeating Igor Gorgonzola Novara 3-1 in Game 4 of the Semifinal Playoffs. In front of nearly 4,000 fans at a packed PalaIgor, Conegliano showcased composure and strength, closing the series 3-1 and earning a ticket to face Vero Volley Milano in the upcoming finals.
The match was tightly contested, with Novara fighting hard to level the series. Despite a powerful performance from Tatiana Tolok, who scored 34 points, it wasn’t enough to push the match to a fifth and final game. Conegliano’s turning point came in the third set, where they dominated with tactical serving and rock-solid blocking.
MVP Sarah Fahr stood out with a stunning 91% offensive success rate, scoring 14 points, including 2 blocks and an ace. Her performance in the first set was especially crucial, recording 8 perfect attacks. Teammates Isabelle Haak (20 points), Gabi (16), and Zhu Ting (17) added to Conegliano’s firepower.
Novara started strong, claiming the second set 25-23, thanks to Tolok’s unstoppable spikes. But Conegliano rallied in the last two sets, winning 25-20 and 25-16 to seal the win.
Final Scudetto Game 1 is set for Wednesday, April 16 at Palaverde, followed by matches on April 19 (in Milan) and April 22 (in Treviso), with possible games on April 25 and April 27.
