It was a focused, determined performance from Numia Vero Volley Milano on Saturday night, as they swept Eurotek Laica UYBA 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-14) at the E-work Arena and tightened their grip on third place in Serie A1.

Backed by 3,002 fans in the stands, UYBA started brightly and looked ready to make it a battle. But once Milano found their rhythm, there was little stopping them. Captain Paola Egonu once again led by example, pouring in 23 points. Every time UYBA tried to build momentum, Egonu had an answer. Rebecca Piva chipped in with 11 points and earned MVP honors after a composed, all-around display.
The straight-sets victory lifts Milano to 59 points and gives them valuable momentum heading into a crucial week. Next up is a Champions League playoff clash in Athens against Olympiacos, where another big performance will be needed.
