In January, the American outside/opposite hitter will join preparations of Italy’s beach volleyball national team for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Rebecca Perry, several times on a wide list of US indoor volleyball national team, has obtained Italian citizenship in recent months due to the fact that her family is originally from Italy and got authorization from the FIVB to play for Italy’s NT in beach volleyball.

Perry, who has a valid contract with the Polish Tauron Banimex MKS Dąbrowa Górnicza until the end of the 2015/2016 season, spent many summers in previous years competing in beach volleyball tournaments.

Perry is a true volleyball globetrotter, playing in six countries so far and taking one gold and one silver medal.

The contract between Perry and MKS Tauron has been terminated as mutual agreement due to personal reasons. Sanja Popovic has been transferred to MKS as a replacement for Becky.
