Blengini’s side has completed a good job in a clash against the host of the tournament Brazil. This win gives the Italians pole position in the quarterfinals. That means, they will enter the next round from the first place and they will meet the rival that will take the fourth place in Pool B.
Let’s talk about the game. Brazil took the first set and everything started very well for Rezende’s side. But, Italy didn’t want to surrender. They kept playing on a high level and tied the score in sets 1:1.
The most decisive set was the third one. Italy managed to handle the pressure and to hold off Brazil to take the lead in this game 2-1. In the fourth set, Zaytev & co. destroyed the host to earn the win.
This victory of Italy caused the earthquake in Pool A. Now, we have a difficult situation. Brazil will play against France and we believe that the side who loses this game will not play in quarterfinals…USA are in the best position as they are playing against Mexico in the last round.
