The Italian Olympic curse. One of the most famous volleyball nations is still without the gold medal from the most prestigious competition.

Giannelli

Italy lost their 3^rd Olympic final in Rio. Azzurri got defeated by Brazil, so they will have to wait four more years to have another chance to win the gold.

Still, Italian setter Simone Giannelli wants to stay positive…

“I am really sorry, because we wanted to give the Italian people the very first Olympic gold. We had a chance, but unfortunately Brazil were better in key moments and they deserved to win. I want to stay positive despite the defeat and I can say that in the coming years I will try everything to bring the Olympic gold to Italy. This is a promise.”
