Luca Tencati ‘Tenca The Wall’, legendary middle blocker of the Italian Men’s National Team, decided to retire after professionally playing volleyball for 20 years of which last seven with LPR Piacenza with whom he won two trophies – in the 2013 Challenge Cup and 2014 Italian Cup.

A 38-year-old athlete has numerous trophies in his showcase, both on a club level and internationally. On a club level he won: 6 titles in Italian Championship (all with former Sisley Treviso), 3 titles in the CEV Champions League (all with Sisley), 2 titles in CEV Cup (all with Sisley), 2 titles in CEV Challenge Cup (one with Azimut Modena and one with Piacenza), 5 gold medals in the Italian Cup (4 with Sisley and 1 with Piacenza) and Supercup (all with Sisley) each and one in the CEV Supercup (with Sisley).

With the Italian NT, Tencati grabbed gold medal in the 2005 CEV European Championship, in Serbia & Montenegro and Italy.

Tencati is the third player to say goodbye to playing volleyball from Piacenza after the last season. Recall that Samuele Papi and Hristo Zlatanov did the same this summer.
