The sentence of the Brazilian outside hitter, who failed drug test in March while playing for an Italian Serie A1 side Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia and got suspended for two years for using clostebol (anabolic steroid who is on the “blacklist” of the World Anti-Doping Agency), was reduced from two years to one year and three months.
It was a result of an appeal, which Kadu and his lawyer submitted in front of the second section of the National Anti-Doping Court of Italy. It was determined that the player took an illegal substance unintentionally.
Kadu was allowed to start competing as from August 2, 2018.
