Trentino defeated Modena for the second time in SuperLega this season. And again in the tie-break. This time, Angelo Lorenzetti’s side defeated rivals in Round 23, partially 26-28, 28-26, 25-22, 17-25, 15-13.

The success against Modena will mean a lot to Trentino in their battle for the fourth place for the playoffs as now they got away one win and two points from the fifth-placed Calzedonia Verona. As for Modena, they went to +8 compared to Trentino and slowly approached the third place in the regular season which secures the berth for the 2019 CEV Champions League.

The Serbian Uroš Kovačević topped Trentino with 23 points (3 aces), while Brazilian Éder Carbonera added 5 kill blocks. In Modena, for whom Frenchman Earvin Ngapeth played as a backup while Giulio Sabbi was not signed up, the Slovenian Tine Urnaut scored 22 points.
