Tonight at home court Igor Gorgonzola Novara defeated Saugella Team Monza after four sets (25-16, 25-15, 22-25, 25-19) in front of 2850 spectators.
They dominated in block (11) and Lauren Gibbemeyer was the best with 4 blocks.
Paola Egonu was the top scorer of the match with 27 points followed by Celeste Plak who scored 19 points. Captain of Monza, Serena Ortolani finished the match with 14 points.
In all four sets, Novara led until the end, even in the third set they had 21-16 when Monza made a turnover and finished that period of the game with 22-25! They made series of 9-1.
This match was a copy of the semifinals of Italian Cup but this time Novara finished it one set earlier.
