No.4 Diatec Trentino made the 2017/18 Superlega playoff semifinals against the top-seed Sir Safety Conad Perugia more interesting as they tied the series at 1-1.

Trentino took advantage of the packed stands at their PalaTrento (3,516 spectators) to surpass Perugia in Game 2 thriller, 3-2 (26-24, 13-25, 19-25, 25-23, 15-10). It sounds incredible but Trentino managed to prevail despite committing as much as 50 errors (24 in service, 12 in reception and 14 in attack), which was 14 errors more than Perugia had on their account.

Luca Vettori topped Trentino with 20 points. The Serbian Aleksandar Atanasijević scored 18 points (4 aces) for Perugia, while Simone Anzani made 6 kill blocks.

The players of No.3 Azimut Modena made the roof at their PalaPanini shaking with extasy of more than 5,000 fans as they beat titleholders and top-seed Cucine Lube Civitanova in four sets, partially 25-16, 29-27, 22-25, 25-23, in Game 2 to level the matchup at 1-1.

The Frenchman Earvin Ngapeth showed he will squeeze the last drop of sweat out of him for Modena before moving to Zenit Kazan at the end the season. He finished the encounter by tallying 24 points. The Bulgarian Tsvetan Sokolov recorded 17 points for Lube.
