In an electrifying showdown at Daejeon Chungmu Gymnasium, Daejeon JungKwanJang Red Sparks stunned Incheon Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders with a dramatic 3-2 win (25-20, 24-26, 36-34, 22-25, 15-12), forcing a decisive Game 5 in the 2024-25 Dodram V-League Women’s playoff series.
Setter Hye-Seon Yeum, the orchestrator behind Red Sparks comeback, once again led with composure and tactical brilliance. Despite battling leg pain in Game 3, Yeom returned stronger, expertly directing attacks and frustrating Heungkuk’s defense with clever plays and timely fastballs. Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi delivered 38, while Vanja Bukilić added 28.
Heungkuk Life, just one win away from the championship, now faces déjà vu—reminiscent of their collapse two years ago against Gimcheon Korea Expressway Hi-Pass. Head coach Marcello Abondanza acknowledged the missed opportunity. “Small choices can decide big games,” he said. “We must grow stronger for the final battle.”
The championship-deciding Game 5 will take place on April 8 at 7 p.m. in Incheon Samsan Gymnasium, promising one last, unforgettable clash for the crown.
