In the first quarterfinal match, Cuba defeated Costa Rica with 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-21) and secured the spot in the semifinal where they will face the USA, the winners of Pool A.
Middle blockers Yamisleydis Viltres Pacheco and Daima Del Rio Preval led Cuba with 12 points each, while middle blocker Susan Alpizar scored 9 points for Costa Rica.
In the second quarterfinal match, Mexico outplayed Puerto Rico also with 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-21) and in the semifinal will play against the Dominican Republic who finished on the top of Pool B.
