By beating AJF Bastardo in the final that was held in the city of Sines by a 3-1 (26-28, 25-16, 25-22, 25-20), SL Benfica increased the advantage on the table of the eternal national cup conquerors in Portugal. Now, the Lisbon team have 18 trophies (six times in the last 11 finals) while their closest followers SC Espinho remained at 12.

According to the Portuguese Volleyball Federation website, the match was filled with many errors on both sides, especially in the service, in which Benfica’s greater offensive power prevailed.

An experienced Brazilian opposite Théo Lopes top-scored for Benfica with 27 points (3 aces, 3 kill blocks), while Ukrainian Vitalii Sukhinin made 24 for Bastardo.
