Whoever wondered why Akinradewo was not included in the U.S. Women’s national team activities in the past few months got the answer now. A 31-year-old middle blocker is pregnant and will give birth in the fall, in October or November.

Akinradewo announced her pregnancy on Instagram. This means that Akinradewo might be ready for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in case her teammates successfully complete the International Qualifiers that will start on August 1.

An experienced middle blocker was not involved in the U.S. national team roster for the 2019 FIVB Nations League and she also parted ways with her club in Japan, Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Springs. We wondered why. Until now.
