Already on the first day of preparations for the 2019 CEV European Men’s Volleyball Championship (September 13-29), Austria might have lost a very important player for the continental tournament – Paul Buchegger.
A 23-year-old opposite hitter injured meniscus in his left knee and underwent surgery a few hours later. The expected time for a rehabilitation process is several weeks, which means that Buchegger is highly doubtful for competing in the 2019 EuroVolley.
Buchegger had the same injury only a year ago, but in his right knee, during Qualifiers for the 2019 EuroVolley against Portugal. And just like now, he was operated.
