JT Thunders defeated Toray in Round 2 of the 2019/20 V.League Division 1 Men regular season easier than expected. As provisional hosts at the Shimabara City Restauration Arena, the vice-champions recorded a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-21) win and became the only team that did not lose a single set in the competition for now. The Thunders were led by Australian bomber Thomas Edgar who poured in 20 points. The ex-France National Team member Antonin Rouzier scored 21 on the other side.
Puerto Rican opposite hitter Maurice Torres tallied 23 points, while Takashi Dekita made as much as 7 kill blocks for Sakai Blazers in their first win of the season. They downed Ōita Miyoshi Weisse Adler who will, it is already clear, fight to avoid the last place in the regular season.
