River Plate’s last match on Weekend 3 of the 2019/20 Liga Argentina de Voleibol regular season brought them their first failure. The team from Buenos Aires is a real hit of the season in Argentina so far, winning all five games since the beginning of the season. But, the reigning champions Bolívar Voley have ended their unbeaten run and, at the same time, extend their own by prevailing in the big match in straight-sets, partially 25-20, 25-23 and 25-14. Cuban opposite hitter Jesús Herrera top-scored for Bolívar with 20 points, including 5 aces. However, River remained at the top of the charts with 5-1 and 15 points.
The second most-titled side in Liga Argentina, UPCN San Juan Voley Club, needed four games to record their premier victory. They did it in the city derby against the vice-champions Obras de San Juan.
