In the group stage of the competition, the women’s U17 national team will compete with Austria and Slovenia, and the coach Miodrag Stojaković is aware of the importance of the tournament that awaits them in two weeks in Zadar: “We are starting with the new generation, 2006. Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to gather earlier to see their condition. At this moment, we have chosen the ones that are in at least some kind of competition cycle and I hope that we have chosen well and that these preparations will be long enough for us to go on the European Championship. New generation – new challenges, but we also have some new talents for Croatian volleyball! ”
The head coach Stojaković invited 16 players to the preparations, of which only 12 will perform at the tournament. The list of menus includes: Ana Prkačin, Maša Mlinar (OK Dinamo), Lorena Marija Sesar, Tonka Bošnjak, Laura Kesar, Vedrana Miljević, Marija Piškor (HAOK Mladost), Tea Pavačić, Petra Gregorović (HAOK Rijeka), Nina Pulić (OK Funtana Vrsar), Lucija Perković (OK Split), Antea Perić, Klara Kruhonja (OK Olimpik), Aurora Brozić (OK Umag), Carla Stošić (OK Pula) and Lea Giljušić (OK Marina Kaštela)
In Group B are Hungary, Czech Republic, Israel and Slovakia.
The head coach of the men’s U17 national team Antonio Surać believes in the good games of his players, who are in the group with Slovenia and Slovakia: ” We got together, tomorrow we will be a little smarter when we see the condition of the boys, and then we will tactically adjust. Of course, we hope for a positive outcome in the tournament and placement in the European Championship! ”
The head coach Surać will have 16 players at his disposal, of which only 12 will win playing in the MEVZA tournament. The list includes: Tin Devald, Lovro Šitum, Maro Busak-Vidaković (HAOK Mladost), Luka Buljat, Luka Nekić, Andrija Zelić (OK Zadar), Ivo Mustapić, Ivo Omašić (OK Ribola Kaštela), Ivan Dugandžić, Ivan Pejanović Marsonija), Dino Šoš, Kristijan Bečeheli (MOK Mursa-Osijek), Lovro Šestak (OK Medicinar-Trnje), Jan Zdelar, Valentino Miklaušić (OK Kitro Varaždin) and Fran Butković (OK Croatia).
Group B includes the Czech Republic, Israel, Hungary and Austria.
All national teams are coming to Zadar for the tournament on March 11, and we will find out the winner of the CEV qualifiers for the European Championship on Sunday, March 14.
