QAT M: Rayyan and Arabi in the Emir Cup finals

Al Rayyan SC sovereignly defeated the Qatar Cup winners Al Ahli SC and secured a place in the Emir Cup final with 2: 0 in the series.

Aleksei Spiridonov and his crew could not find a way to respond to Al Rayyan SC players led by Stephen Boyer. Stephen Boyer and Bilal Abunabot were the top scorers for Al Rayyan SC with 11 points each. Miguel Angel Dalmau with 9 points was the top scorer for Al Ahli SC.

Al Rayyan SC will play in the final against Al Arabi SC who also beat the winners of the Qatar Championship Police SC with 2: 0 in the semifinal series. 

This match provided a lot of excitement and uncertainty. After 2-0 for Police SC, Al Arabi SC managed to reverse the next two sets and equalize at 2-2. In the fifth set, Police SC players had several attacks for the lead at the end of the match, but Al Arabi blocked their attempts and won the set 19-17.

Lukasz Zygadlo masterfully organized the game and led his team (five players with double-digit performance and over 50% attack). Rozalin Penchev was the top scorer for Al Arabi SC with 22 points (61% attack). Villner Rivas with 32 points (5 aces, 57% attack, 1 block point) and Oliver Venno with 25 (1 ace, 44% attack, 1 block point) were the most efficient for Police SC.

Al Arabi SC – Police SC 3-2 (22-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-16, 19-17) Series:2-0 

*Semifinals are played in the “Best of Three” format.
