Camilo Placi, head coach of Bulgarian national team, submitted the list of 22 players who will participate in the 2013 World League.

Vladimir Nikolov – retired from the national team, currently national team manager
Nikolay Nikolov – will undergo a surgery, expected to be back for the European Championship
Teodor Todorov – will undergo a surgery, expected to be back for the European Championship
Metodi Ananiev – still recovers from an injury he got in his club Indykpol AZS Olsztyn (Poland), no information about expected recovery dat
Andrey Zhekov – hasn’t played competitive volleyball in a year, might be available for the European Championship as long as he gets back to his usual leve
Kostadin Gadzhanov – injured, might be available for the European Championship
Boyan Yordanov – rejected an invitation from Camilo Placci with the personal motive that he needs some rest (hasn’t been in the national team main group since the 2008 Beijing Olympics).

8 players make it to the full squad for the first time. These are Apostolov, Valchev, Rozalin Penchev, Seganov, Petkov, Krasimir Georgiev, Samunev and Uchikov.

Bulgaria has been drawn in Pool A along with the reigning winner Poland, Brazil, Final Six organizer Argentina, France and USA. The injured players might affect Bulgaria’s overall World League performance, but the main goal ahead of Placi continues to be the 2013 Euro in Poland and Denmark at the very end of September.
